  Dead Sea

One of the jewels in Jordan’s tourist crown, the Dead Sea attracts visitors from across the world to test its legendary buoyancy, rejoice in its stunning setting and seek out its curative properties. A place of relaxation and rejuvenation, the Dead Sea is a truly unique phenomenon. Located at the lowest point on earth, at the northern edge of the Great Rift Valley, the Dead Sea is actually a salt-rich lake that slithers its way between the dust-brown hills of Jordan and the West Bank. A salinity of over 30 per cent allows bathers to float unaided across its calm surface, while the high levels of bromide, sulphur and magnesium are ideally suited to soothing skin complaints such as psoriasis.
